Can the consumer battery in the boot be changed without causing any problems ? wasnt sure if I need to keep 12v supply to the leads whilst changing ! cheers

I changed the boot battery without a 12v supply with no adverse results.
You will just need to cycle the windows up and down, move the seats to the limits of their adjustment and turn the steering lock to lock (you will show an ESP error til you do this)
