Hi.
Just been thinking about getting one of these as a car to nip in and out of work in.
More specifically a sporting one as I prefer the looks. They are seriously cheap, throw away cheap, and rather than waste a fortune in fuel taking the spacewagon or mr2 turbo into work, approx 5 miles I was thinking of a cinq.
I cycle when it's fine, and have got a taste of the petrol savings!
What are they like to live with and anything out of the ordinary to look for when buying?

For a commute of 5 miles, it cant be worth the extra insurance and tax. You will end up out of pocket

Sorry, meant I was going to lay up the mr2 in oct and run it then through the winter. Swapping the insurance over and a years tax on the cinq is cheaper than 3months on the mr2.

Ha! Should have explained myself better!
I know October is ages away yet, but I've seen one that can be bought very cheaply so might grab it and park it till then.

I don't have the sporting version, rear arches get rusty and if you can look on the underside, check the fuel tank. There was a recall across the range (in 1998 IIRC), mine has corroded on the join between the two halves.
