Don't know if anyone can shed any light on this - my mother has bought a Fiat Idea about a month ago and has noticed that the indicators don't flash when locking or unlocking the car. Having checked the hand book it states that they should flash if using the remote key fob as tried by myself with no sign of any lamps flashing. She has a 3 month warranty with the car and has spoken to the garage that sold her the car only to be told that the lights only flash if the car has an alarm fitted, I am not sure if they are trying it on or if this is correct as any car I have ever used with a remote fob has always had a confirmation flash or more when unlocking or locking.
Her previous car was a Punto (this car flashed as expected) that was 2 years older than the Idea.
Any info on this would be appreciated.

my wifes 04 panda flashes indicators when you lock/unlock, as does my 02 multipla. the panda has no alarm, the multipla does....doesn't really help, but there you go biggrin

It is probably correct - it was the same with the Stilo. It will be switched off in the body computer, it will need to be connected to an Examiner or FIATECUScan to have them switched back on. For some strange reason, FIAT switched them off on UK cars at the docks unless they had the factory alarm installed.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like a bit of time + laptop + cable + software (FiatEcuScan) = a good Idea ! idea
Love the name of this car makes for interesting posts on the forums.
I must be honest am quite impressed with the car, good clean car with quite a good level of extras and find the semi auto box a nice extra.
