FIAT PUNTO HGT help

Interested in a fiat punto 2001 with mods, and wondered what to look out for. Among the many mods these are the 2 i am unsure off.

Custom gearbox using alfa 156 internals and bell housing
Uprated GSR variator, has bronze internals instead of nylon to prevent wear

are these good mods?

Also anything to look out for, the car is on 96k miles.
