What Alfa have you got, I guess JTD or V6 if you've done water pump? As an aside how many people have had water pumps fail?

Yeah it was a few months ago - no-one was interested, so decided to keep it. Sinec I was I decided to have the cam belt done at the MOT, and a service etc. Came in at a rather large sum redface

It was £800 inc labour for the belt and pump for the V6, which was fairly eye watering (although they threw in a free camshaft).

It is quite a dear job but you can run the car now with no doubts in the back of your mind. There's very few nice 2.5 V6s out there now seemingly, so just keep driving and enjoying it!

Oh I know there are not many - and I enjoy driving it - but i did less than 6k last year, and this year is looking at maybe 3 or 4k, if that.
