Quick question, looking at a 2007 1242 Grade Punto, does anyones know when the cambelt is due on these? Also, are they an interference design? Any help appreciated.

My Fiat specialist has just told me that Wifey's cambelt is due now at four years old (on a 1368 Turbo lump, but I doubt they would be vastly different

AFAIK, from the Mk2 Punto, the 16v is an interference engine, but the 8v isn't (not sure if the old 8v lump made it into the Grande Punto)

They only used the 8v engine in the GP, the 16v unit was killed off in favour of the 1.4 8v unit. I think belts are recommended at 5 yrs by Fiat, but I would say 4 to be on the safe side. Not a big job on the 8v engines.
