IPod / Iphone Interface

Just a quick heads up to anybody considering fitting a Ipod / Iphone interface to thier Alfa & saving a bit of installation money - I have just fitted this to my Brera (with standard factory radio / cd head unit), it works with no problems & as specified.

The only negative with this unit and other type interfaces is that you have to ditch the CD Changer (if fitted) as you have to utilise the same (blue) socket / plug point. However now the CD changer seams primative in comparisum.
I should have taken a few install picks, however I found it easy to do and it only took 1/2 hour (inc cup of tea & biscuit), so a simple overview should help if required (below).
There are cheaper ones on the market .... however I can only comment on this (nice bit of kit).
Install Overview / Method:
1. Pull out the radio/cd head unit (to gain access rear cables).
2. Open glove box, remove upper internal trim cover (clip in & one screw if fitted).
3. Use coat hanger to route input cable into glove box & rear of stereo unit.
4. Have cup of tea to steady your nerves.
5. Plug in Blue Plug to rear of head unit (remove CD Changer blue plug 1st if fitted).
6. Plug in Interface unit to Iphone cable to unit, tidy & clip in place.
7. Test operation (mine only worked with engine on ? - this had me worried at first
8. Replace glove box internal trim & push back head unit, test operation again.
9. Job done.
