So much discussion on the merits (and demerits) of Alfa ownership - why don't we have a little unscientific poll to see how things really pan out. I propose a simple 1-5 rating (1 being hopeless, 3 being average and 5 excellent) for the following categories (note my own ratings just to get things moving).

Model - 156 2.0 Veloce saloon
Driving pleasure - 4
Comfort - 4
Performance - 4
Reliability - 4
Build quality - 3
Spares availability - 3
Dealer rating - Perry's 1, SGT 3
Value for money - 4

I have owned mine for 2 years. Bought it with 56k on the clock, and now 92.5k. Gearbox went kaput one year ago, hence the experience with N Wales Alfa numpties. Mainly the other half's car now, I drive a Merc CLK but after driving the Alfa a fair bit over the last week I was reminded just how much fun it is, how tight it feels, and why I should sell the Merc and buy something that is hopefully as much fun...
