Hi all
Think the clutch is about to go on wifeys 147 as it's getting nigh on impossible to select 1st. Do you have any idea what it might cost to get replaced? Local indie says 5.8 hours plus a couple of hundred for the parts.
Many thanks

Try Eurocarparts online for clutch prices, there are normally discount codes available, or buypartsby.

Only prob on these is if it needs a flywheel aswell. Sometimes the symptoms can be caused by a failed Clutch cylinder so worth checking this out too.

Thanks chaps. Just getting really difficult to get in to first. On the go its not so much of an issue but nigh on impossible from stationary. Have to put foot right down to the floor and give it a major heave to get in to gear.

When I had this on my GT, it turned out it was "only" the slave cylinder.

Some guideline prices for clutch jobs here, shamelessly pinched from Autolusso's site smilehttp://autolusso.co.uk/workshop/clutch-replacement...

Many thanks...I'll give that a go first. Is there a certain diagnosis which would lead to slave as opposed to a full clutch replacement? She really only uses the car in town and it's only done 35000 miles 57 reg

In my case the difficulty engaging gear was accompanied by an increasing dead feel to the top part of the clutch pedal travel, didn't really feel any pressure until I'd pushed it partway down.
