getting a giulietta cloverleaf on fri and just noticed no oilchange to 18,000miles!!i take it if driven enthusiastically-got 5mpg on test drive....at 1 point it is wise to change oil every say 6,000miles??

That depends on what kind of oil you put in it, modern fully synthetics are very durable. Stick to whatever the manufacturer recommends.

^^^ Fully synthetic oil goes for ages. My Alfa Spider can use either, but I go for a 10 W 40 semi synth and just change it more often, rather than hold out. Being a twin spark, it drinks oil at about a pint per 1500 miles anyway, so it's constantly being topped up!

my 147 never used oil for last 4 1/2 years butchanged oil every 6,000 miles

Waste of time and money these days to be honest.
I think you'll find your new car might need an oil change every year if you don't do 18000 a year anyway.

mm still tempted probably change oil at 9,000miles anyway
