Well we've gone and done it now. The missus has always hankered after a 147, and we are now the proud owners of a black 2007 147 JTDm 8v Lusso (pics may follow after a wash - damn you rain and M40!)

Given that the little beauty will soon be in need of some new rubber (3 of the tyres are just legal (i.e. it passed an MOT on Monday with advisories on the tyres), does anyone have any recommendations for what rubber to put on the 15-spoke 16 inch alloys? Budget isn't as important as ride quality and handling, although I don't want to spend too much...

Your thoughts please...

Edited to add - the fronts, which are the worst of the lot, are 'Millenniums' - never heard of them! The rears are a Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 (???) and a Maaxis MA-P1 (which has the most tread of the four)..

Congrats. We have an 8 valve Lusso, but of 2004 vintage.
To be honest any mid range tyre will be fine. Ours has had Goodyear NCT 5s (I think!), is currently on Avon Ice Touring ST winters, and will be going back onto Avon ZV3s shortly. Just see what's on offer at the time and get all four done if you can. Avon, Hancook, Toyo, Fulda anything like that will be fine. Avoid Pirelli P6000s, but I'm sure they'll try and sell you some!!

Martin, thanks for the Bridgestones suggestion, I had some Potenzas on a car a few years ago, I might try that route again...

I was happy with Michelin Primacy HP's on mine - a good balance of grip, ride comfort & noise. Not cheap, but against that you need to balance their long life.
