My daughter is finally giving up on her old KA, having replaced 90% of the mechanicals in the last few years :beat Yesterday she said she was interested in one of these PCP deals where you can pay a small desposit, around 1000 and then just pay around 150 per month.

I'd seen these on the Fiat 500s and I do like these (as does she) but I wondered what other opions there are and what else I should know about 500s other than not to belive anything about the twinair fuel consumption!

What exactly do you want to know? I've had a 1.2 and am about to take delivery of a twinair.

As for deals well there is isn't much off them in terms of discount. My 1.2 came 2 years ago with around 200 discount and the new Twinair has 300 off it.

I've found them to be pretty good residually and have had no reliability problems.

The 500 is great, we've got a 1.2 pop, the basic model and it's fine for the Mrs.

Just had a chat with a local dealer about an auto 1.2 Lounge for £0 deposit and £200p/m. Would an auto be a bit slow?

I can't comment on the dualogic, although other people on the 500 dedicated forums always seem to praise the auto.

A 1.2 isn't going to set the world alight, however I was never disappointed in it especially when it got a fair few miles on.

As for the £200 a month, well that sounds like i-deal? A manual 1.2 lounge can be had for £159 a month with a £1,750 (some of it from Fiat). The mileage restriction is 6,000 a year though for that offer.

It's worth popping into a dealership and having a chat with them about the different finance options.

Had some thoughts about it and she'll be spending £7000+ over 3 yrs on a new one whereas she can have a 3yrs old one for that, with low miles and then own the car at the end of it.

Is Dualogic an auto box? I assume so.

Yes it's the auto. The 500's do hold their value very well and if you can I'd buy a new one outright not on a pcp.

The Dual logic isn't an auto in the true sense of the word, its a manual gearbox inside but controlled electro-machanically. You've only got the 2 pedals in the car, it doesn't creep forward when in drive and in the basic form it will roll back on a hill. All of which can cause problems if you are only used to full autos, as my missus is.

You can stick it in Drive, or you can move the gearstick (no paddles) forwards and backwards to change gear.

If it's for a girl I think the TwinAir has most of the fun, but still looks cute (possibly being a bit stereotypical, but the cuteness is a lot of the appeal).
