Popped into the local Alfa dealer this morning as I needed a new battery for the spare plipper. Well, actually, I had to go to the Fiat parts desk next door 'cos the Alfa one isn't open Saturday's

I paid with a £20 note a Mr Funny behind the counter said "I'm suprised you've got any money left running one of those things". Now, I found this quite funny, but he didn't know me from Adam and I could quite easily have taken offence.

Thinking about it now, I should have replied that I've still got some money as we've only had the car 3 weeks

How about corroded sun roof switch for a 164. Comes as part of centre console only so £100ish but also contains alarm sensor so does not always want to talk to alarm. If you have the code number fine, if not whole new alarm and keys, and locks. Not far short of £600 in total. Alternatively prize back off switch file contacts, fill with WD40 glue back together. in the region of half hour and 10p. Guess which I did?
