Hi all

Been on PH a while now, but this is the first Alfa I've ever owned. She's a 2004 156 GTA and only had it 3 days. Picked it up Saturday and promply did a 450 mile round trip to Newcastle & York for TOTB III. Great to drive and looks fab, if a tad uncomfortable after 4 hours on the road. Hopefully more fun to come...

If the brakes start giving you grief Larry, you might be due an upgrade. Worth asking Alfa. I don't know the full ins-and-outs of it but I believe there is a big brake upgrade now available. Needs 18" wheels though...

Brake upgrade fits with the 5 hole alloys too. Getting the upgrade from your dealer could be a pain in the ass, see the forum at alfaowner.com or alfa156.net for more info.

Sorry I'm not an Alfa driver but I am interested to learn about the Alfa SZ which I believe were built around early 80's in very limited numbers.

I recall the body to very very high waisted with a wedge bonnet and 6 headlights. The boot and rear of the car squared off. I recall thinking at the time of first sight I must have one. Never did and I don't spose I ever will, unless the golden finger points st me.

Any info on this car please, all stats welcome. Thanks

Think I might have seen your car at TOTB leaving around 4pm(?) - it was a 156GTA cos I commented to my mate that it was a nice car. Good choice!

(How many cars were at that event!?!?! I couldn't believe the car park took up half the runway.)

Yep, that was me - was there with the UK Viper Club

Too many people there IMHO, couldn't get a good view of the action or a good idea of who was wining. Needed grand stand seating really. Interesting car park though

nice car larry! same colour GTA as mine except Ive got the 5 pot alloys. One thing though - loose the manky orange side indicators, i binned mine and got hold of a set of clear repeaters, blend superb with the black paint and do not look cheap or max power. can see a pic of them here:

Nice one Larry. Real head turner. Hope you enjoy it. I think the 156 really benefits from the GTA bodykit which your car has. I hope I'll get one virtually the same- sometime. Just wish they were RWD.
