If you like to get out and about with your Alfa there is a new club -

:Censored:

Aimed at the more active Alfa owner who likes to get about and have fun with their car, they will be attending various events,(alfa and non alfa - its good to mix), car shows and racetracks/dragstrips and holding meets year round. Give it a look, there is also an Alfanutz facebook page to keep up to date when you are out and about.

Please don't plug your site it's not allowed.

Good website. Many months ago, I put forward many of the things you are looking to do to my fellow AROC Board members as a way of injecting some life into the old girl. To date, progress has been getting tapatalk activatedfrown

Got MITcar coming up on the 5th August near Derby this year.

I'll be there in the Punto (god of engines willing...) probably with the Fiat Forum.

Good luck with it, although it just looks like a slightly barren replica of alfaowner to me.

More track days, a Santa Pod RWUB timin 1/4 mile type event, modified car section etc. Need to capture the younger crowd as they are the future of AROC.....

The site isnt meant to be anything like alfa owner or serve any other purpose than let us organise events... thats what the club is about, getting out to lots of different events, mix with other clubs not just alfas and have fun doing it.... alfa owners already know about alfas... why limit yourselves to preaching to other alfa owners i want to get out and spread the word to a wider audience

Alfas are not owned by younger people, sadly the average age of an owner is quite high, you only need to look at our own section to realise that. I'm one of the youngest and I'm 38!!

I speak with considerable experience as an Alfa owner, someone who has organised events, sold AROC membership and been an Alfa salesman.

The uptake from the members to previous efforts to get involved in Motorsport have not been great either. Personally, I have become bored with parking in fields and I'm more likely to attend an event where we drive the cars, however there are a lot of members who seem to like 'park & polish' events.

I'm not attending NAD because I've come to realise I enjoy the smaller more local events.

I think the average age of alfa owners has dropped recently, Mito and cheap 156's has had significant effect on the average age. You only have to look at alfaowner. com now and compare it to how it was five years or so back, it's much younger. Can't say the same for AROC though and frankly there in lies the problem.

I have lots of younger members in my club, right down to 18 yrs old, and not just driving Mitos and Julies either, even got a 20 yr old who drives a 156 2.4jtd... the avarage age of Alfa owners is dropping and so it should... otherwise every Alfa in the country will have a plaid blanket, a nodding dog and a tissue box on the rear shelf :-)
