Mito 1.3 d what is the real world mpg/ running cost?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a mito distinctive 1.3 diesel for the daily commute which involves about 20-23,000 miles a year.the official mpg figures for this car seem very high and suggest a combined of 80 mpg.as I usually get very near the combined given the route this would mean a good saving which can be spent on the fun car.
However being a doubting soul I was wondering what the real mpg is and any other relevant costs such as servicing and tyres etc.
I know that there are a number of alternatives if mpg is the main factor but I am taken with the mito so it is very much number one on the list, but any thoughts on the alternatives are welcome as always.
Thanks.

The answer lies in the topography and speed of your journey. High speed and hills are likely to mean low 50s per gallon. We have one customer travelling to Manchester and back each day and averaging 78 miles per gallon. The latest engine certainly isn't dead either, being able to keep pace with the 1.6 Giulietta up to 70mph, after which it does tend to get left behind. The current engine is only a few months old so the helpful comparisons with old Corsas may not be relevant.
