First ever Alfa purchase !
Discussion
Well , may seem daft but the Landcruiser was getting just too much money to run since I retired (and co-inciding with the current financial climate) so my sprint car on the minno needed a fun but more economical tow car.
Bought a 2009 Alfa 159 2.4 jtdm ti , obviously in Alfa red !!! Just driving around locally it does around 35/38 , towing 33mpg but no long run yet to see what high speed motorway mpg might be . I did a little drive out through country lanes being very easy on the pedal which clocked up 41mpg on the screen but it may exagerate the truth.
Performance , if you plant it through the box , is outstanding for an oil burner , handling too is very precise and sure footed ----- so very pleased so far although it won't be getting serviced at the recommended 18,000 miles , I'll be doing that myself every 8000 miles. After I bought it , I drained the sump changed the filter and it got filled with MILLERS 5W40 Nanodrive , same as my track car plus a dose of ZX1 Extralube.

I have joined and been reading the forum but am not yet convinced there'll be no repercussions MOT wise or wear and tear engine & particularly box wise ? The mod ' isn't that simple either and total costs if you get all necessary things done can be 6/700 quid ?
More torque would be nice but economy more important in my case. Having tried pushing it very hard through the gears , it already goes like 's
te' off a shovel !!! Only showing 3000rpm at 110mph --- not on the road of course.
