So this morning on my 156 1.9jtd my battery decided it was dead overnight when it was seemingly fine over the Christmas period with a couple of run outs, and fine yesterday. It was a bit dodgy starting about a month ago when It was really cold but thought I'd managed to get away with it. It’s so dead that even the central locking didn’t work and I had to manually lock both doors.

Anyway battery was 8 years old so that’s about average right? I was wondering if anyone else has had to change a battery recently. I'm thinking about ordering this one http://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/product/57220/ and was wondering if alphaline batteries are alright, having only every changed a battery once in nearly 10 years of driving.

It seems pretty to be a pretty good price including delivery, especially in comparison to RAC providing and fitting one at over £100!! and similar prices from Halfords

Looks ok to me.

I ordered mine from Euro Car Parts (if you have one close by you can collect!)

Its cheaper but has 1 year less warranty - but it is an Excide battery which are considered good in the trade.

Thanks for the reply, whats even more annoying is I actually ordered some parts from them literally 2 days ago and I'm just waiting for it to be delivered!

Whats the opinion on the Alphaline ones?

I haven't heard of Alphaline before but would go with the Exide or Bosch one for a little more, but not so bad with the eurocarparts voucher of BATTERY15 for 15% off.
