Anyone got the BOSE upgrade in their 156? I have in my GTA but have a vibration problem with the rear 8" sub-woofer. I have taken the whole speaker assembly apart, even screwed a loose part of the parcel shelf together to stop vibration all to no effect. When the speaker is removed, it does not vibrate so it is not faulty. There is something under the back shelf and its driving me ! (nothing loose that I can see)

Any advise or help?

The Bose was standard UK fitment on 156's of 2.0 and above from the mid-2002 facelift until the late-2003 big nose facelift, so it's quite a common problem.
It's well covered here:

Good luck!

Interesting thread - I will try their suggestions, but I'm sure I get the problem even with the speaker grill removed

Thanks... any more suggestions?

Unless they *know* what the problem is that causes it, I can't see how they will find it? I've taken everything apart and spent a good deal of time looking for the cause.

Is it a problem you've come across before?

I had it on a 147 GTA before.

Pop it in, wont do any harm, use your 12 month radio warranty while you have it!

I stand corrected

I took the cover off tonight and no vibration. I've now taken the grill fabric off for the time being - I'll stick it back on another time.

Can't understand how before it vibrated with the cover off? Maybe I then fixed it without knowing...?

Oh well, done noe
