Alfa GT 2.0 JTS info please
Discussion
Hi, was looking at a GT 2.0 JTS cloverleaf (2009) and was just looking for anything to look out for, it has just under 10k on the clock.
I currently have a GT 1.9 JTD(2005)and love it but fancied a change as its getting a little tired but love the shape of the GT.
The main thing I was wondering is the cambelt, is this still a weak point, I had a 2.0 156 a few years ago and was always told to get the cambelt done every 36k/3 years, is this still the case on GT's.
Also does anyone know if the cloverleafs have HID's as the headlights on my GT just now are pretty poor on country roads.
Any info/advice appreciated.
Thanks

I would also say the 2.0 JTS is underrated and I prefer it over the 1.9 JTD.
If you check my history you will see I have had both JTD and JTS in a GT, plus 2 other 156 JTS's.
In that time the only abnormal problem I have had with any of the cars was a coil pack failure and that was only about £50 and 10 minutes work.
They have torque, usable power range, reasonable on fuel and sound better than most other modern 4pot (although the TS sounds better!)

Well a wee update, I took the plunge and traded in my tired 1.9JTD GT and bought the 2.0 JTS
Love it, looks & feels like a new car, there's hardly a mark on it, inside & out.
Its a 59 plate and has 7500 miles on it.
Its certainly doesn't have as much torque as the JTD but is very quiet & smooth.
Its quite thirsty too, but not to worry!
Heres a couple of pics of my new GT

That is lovely! I would of had that if I spotted it. I do like that colour with those wheels.Love it, looks & feels like a new car, there's hardly a mark on it, inside & out.

Enjoy her

Oh and remember to replace the cambelt/tensioners/balance belt every 3 years (regardless of mileage!) or 36k..whatever comes first. The tensioners generally fail with age
