Hi everyone, I've been advised to join here to ask for some advice about my next car.

I'm looking at buying an Alfa Romeo Mito, I'd just like to know if there are any potential problems or pitfalls I may come across during ownership? I know that Alfa have a "reputation" for poor reliability, but the only stories you hear are of bad points, not how well someone's car is running.

So what do you think? Are they a good car or should I avoid?

Probably worth placing this in the Alfa section, more likely to get some knowledgeable responses there.

It would be second hand (2 years old) but will come with 1 years manufacturers warranty.

I'm trading in a Fiat 500 of the same age, but slightly higher miles and less warranty. I would like a larger car.

The Mito is a very well made car, possibly better built than the Giulietta. Not a great deal to worry about, tyre wear and stone chips are the main things. I've not heard any horror stories at all with the Mito.

At the end of the day; like your 500 the Mito is built by Fiat and I'm sure you've had little or no trouble with the 500.

I have not really experienced many problems with my current 500, but two previous 500 I have owned I must admit there were a couple of issues. I truly love the design of the 500, but having had three different specs in this car I do feel that I am ready for a change, and to progress onto a larger car.

By the way, you can get a fourth year warranty extension on the Mito which includes AA cover.
