Just wondering.

Do I ever part-ex my current one or just barn it up. Will it ever become iconic?

Not in the imidiate fute but it's likely to given its looks and relatively short production run. Its equivalent would be a GTV6... Look hown many you see of them for sale atm, and if you do find one, how much it is.

It'll be engine sensitive too. I'd imagine the V6 Brera S's will be worth the most in 20+ years.

Yes, for sure. Autoexpress recently had this & the 916 Spider pegged as a guaranteed future classic by some expert.

Not sure that it will. I like the Brera, but (rightly or wrongly) it wasn't well received by the general public and isn't the most loved car within the Alfa community either.

It will definitely have a following, the 6 and the 90 do, even the Arna has value as a curio, but I'm not sure it'll be a classic in the same league as the 105 etc.

The S V6 maybe, but in years to come I'm not sure the others will be seen as a classic or just a well-looked-after old car.

Probably better just to enjoy it than preserve it. smile

I think the Prodrive version has the most chance, there have been some cars that weren't the most popular in their time but become hero's later.

The biggest problem for the Brera are that none of the engines are italian derived, not that I think they are nearly as bad as everyone makes out. Like a german engine with a bit more character, but not a busso.

I'm not sure that the engine will be as much of a draw as it's the GM unit, rather than the Busso. To have one of the last "Alfa" V6s you'd be looking at a GTA or GT.

I think the design is relatively timeless so will age well. I can imagine it being a future classic in the way of a comfy stylish GT instead of a classic sports car, tidy and cleanly styled body, neat and tasteful interior. As others have said the allure of the engine will not be that strong, does the 90s Lotus Elan have this issue though? (as and example of a legendary marque with a less than memorable engine).

I'm banking on my 916 2.0 GTV becoming a future classic. Only has 44K on the clock at the moment too smile

I love my S (2.2), the handling and looks are fantastic but it is underpowered. The Prodrive tweaks really change the feel of the car completely. I could see the V6 variant becoming a classic, but as mentioned above, it seems to lack that 'Italian Feel' though it's a good engine. I really don't understand the hatred some people have for it though; sure, it's a different car to the old GT, but I don't really see it as a successor to the GT.

Would I trade my Brera for a GT? Nope, not in a million years. Sometimes I wish I'd held out for a V6, but then I've got a Tiv in the garage for when I want an engine with (a lot) more grunt!

I certainly hope so. I'm looking to purchase a Q4 SV V6 and plan to own it for decades.
