Lots of lovely Maserati/Alfa romeo 8c crackles and bangs, it was revved rather conservatively but sounded nice and expensive, might shut up the moaners about the price.

Ah I wondered if you were having a joke or if you had a bit of inside knowledge!

Sounds identical to my old 500 Abarth with a titanium exhaust.

Don't like those front lights much frown

Agreed on the headlights but overall its a very pretty car and headlights can be changed/facelifted.
Sounded cracking too even if it was only light throttle...

Sounded like any other 4pot to me. Nothing special, nothing bad, but I couldnt tell you if that was a Fiesta with a fruity exhaust, a Volvo or a 4C. 4pots sound like 4 pots unless a Boxer or flat.

They want shooting over the headlights, but I presume somebody aftermarket will rectify that bloody quickly.

The interior though frown So dull and depressing it looks Germanic. Might be better in tan, would have to see.

Really, the pops and crackles sounded distictly high end FIAT group, Abarth to Maserati.

Loads of awesome sounding cars are inline 4s, really awesome sounds.

The lights on the launch edition are listed as extras above the "standard" 4C. The carbon surround and bi-LED lights are listed as unique to it. Hopefully the normal 4C will be better!

Yep. As a confirmed complete and utter raving fanboy of Alfa interiors and practically licked the inside of the concept (and the outside) I was almost spiritually castrated when I saw the inside of the production car.

It wont be so bad with a light interior, an Alfa tan, but you simply cant have a black interior like that in a small enclosed cockpit car like that, it just robs the interior of personality. The details get hidden and it just leaves you feeling dark and dreary. Even with a tan to brighten it up though, there is nothing stylish about it. There is no flash of inspiration, no X factor and half the joy of an Italian Mistress is X factor.

To illustrate: sit your arse in a 4C. Ergonomically and quality wise it is incomparably better than my next two examples. Sit your arse in the leather Recaros with the yellow veglia dials ahead of you in an Integrale, or in the *gorgeously* sculpted SZ chairs with the centre console angled towards you, the belted and carpeted shelf behind you, the grab handles on the seats and there is no contest of where you would rather be sat. The 4 C doesnt get a look in. Its sterile in there compared to what you are expecting and hoping.

If I want competent but dull Ill look inside my Mercs. Every single one of my Italian fancies Ive stroked the interior in a very disturbing fashion. As Monkey Matt above will tell you, I even used to stroke my 8C Big Red Book when it first arrived!!!

Sounds growly like the 500 with the right exhausts on. What on earth were yet thinking with the headlamps though? Those are fk ugly.

I liked the purposeful no frills interior. Not very Italian though. Colour will help.

Comfortable with a brill driving position. Having a knackered spine rules this car out for me though frown

The CF headlights are ok but much much much prefer the concept lights.

I just hope it reviews & drives well.

I don't think the Cayman S has anything to worry about mind you.
