Very excited, looks good in the pictures, will post some later once I've bought it. 1996 GTV Twinny with 88K on the clock, FSH, cambelt done at 69K, Rosso Red, Half Leather, MOT til January but no Tax, paid £900.

Fab, I keep looking at these as one of the performance bargains of the century but can't really justify a fourth car on top of already bankrupting the family...

The twinny's a great engine that loves to be thrashed but change/top up the oil regularly, they like a drink but then you knew that, right?

Enjoy

I got my 8th GTV at the start of May, i do have a soft spot for them, ph2 in silver, belts done 14 months ago, 90k, mot, £180............bought a ph1 2 days later, taxed and tested £175, removed the full leather interior, put it in the ph2, swapped loads of bits over, working aerial, unbroken fuse cover, unused tool kit and spare wheel, scrapped the rest for £150, so for £205 i am sorted with a lovely GTV.

Good luck with yours Darren..

Bog standard but beautiful! How is she doing in terms of mechanical well being?

Tell you what mate, it is up there with one of the most reliable and easy to drive cars I've ever owned! And I've had 9 Alfa's and about 30 different other cars in my 10 years of motoring. It's bloody good on fuel too, half tank has given me about 200 miles and the light still hasn't come on. I have had the V6 version of this car a few times and although the V6 roar is brilliant, the Twinny does keep up with mostly everything else I come across on the road, the engine sounds great, and it's twice as good on fuel. I used to get about 18MPG from my V6 Alfa's, laugh

Looks clean inside! Picked up a Phase 1 Twinny Lusso Spider myself a few weeks back for £1300. 86k FSH, two belt changes, new clutch, exhaust and suspension bits. Exterior and hood in very good condition, seats are unmarked, iPod ready stereo. It's great, fast enough, sounds good with the top down, loves to be revved and so far doesn't seem too bad on oil. As you say, it's good on fuel too, am getting about 30 mpg and its a big tank.

The dial and heater rings on yours look good, don't suppose you know where they are from?

Neighbours think I spent 10k at least on buying it, they can't believe it cost a tenth of that!

I've started looking at these again. I test drove a ropey v6 at the weekend...are the running costs really THAT much higher? (this all depends on job situation - if I have to start commuting then i'll be sticking with the eco-box)
