Alfa 156 Airbag Lights

Hi all.

Apologies if this has been posted to death, but alfaonline doesn't seem to want to load for my computer, and I can't seem to find a decent guide to doing the seat reset for the passenger and driver airbag lights on the dashboard having replaced the battery. Could one of you point me in the direction of a step-by-step how to?

If your 156 is 2002+ it will automatically turn the lights off if everything is OK.

Pre-2002 requires connection to the diagnostic machine to turn them off as far as I was aware.

Changing the battery should not turn the lights on!, I have changed a number of 156 batteries and never had the lights come on after the battery went flat/needed replacement.

Thanks V6. Mine's a 1999 so it'll probably need a diagnostic. And the previous owner let the battery run basically flat when he stored the car, but the lights are still on with a new battery in, think maybe it's more serious than just the software needing a reset? I've read that if you move the seats while the engine is off that can mess it up.

I suspect that those lights were always on, it is normally simple however. If you go under the seat you see/feel a cable. Make sure that the connectors are properly pushed together (some people tie clip the ends together.

Then go for a reset.
