Had my GT for a few days now :-) and have a long journey tomorrow, so just checking fluid levels etc.

The oil level on the dashboard says the oil level is on top limit, the dipstick says bottom limit. Obviously excessively low / high oil is bad for any engine, but I'm especially wary cos of the turbo etc.

Which one should I be trusting? The mechanical engineer in me says trust the dipstick over a sensor, but the experience of the forum would be good.

Thanks,

Nick

My 1.9 JTDM 150 156 has the oil level display, which seems accurate ( in that my engine never needs any oil !), but I always check the oil manually anyway as I would never rely on an electronic sensor....particularly on engine oil. Presumably your car has the correct dipstick ?

+1. Ignore the sensor.

It has *a* dipstick! I've no reason to believe its not the OE stick.

Thanks for the replies.
