Why shouldn't I buy this '84 Alfasud?
Discussion
I've owned several suds, they are very enigmatic. Drives on rails, crackles and pops on overun
easy to get to engine, even the water pump replacement was easy. The inboard brakes are quite easy to get to. Yes it has crappy electrics, poor paint. If I had the dosh I would have one. Either that or a Strada Abarth.
Saw a mint green cloverleaf at Stanford Hall a few years ago and it was so pretty. As long as it checks out for rust I think it's a steal.

Ok.
Side draught 45s on a flat four? Huh? Should have 36 mm downs.
Tailgate looks like it has seconds to live.
If those are original wheels then they're TRX tyres (eek!)
Rear spoiler and bumper "properly resprayed" - they weren't painted from the factory.
These Green Cloverleafs (leaves?) aren't really the pick of the lot to be honest, they're the most powerful yes but the power just makes the car jump all over the road and ruins the lovely steering...
If you want a proper Sud experience you need an older chrome bumper one with a 1200 or 1300 engine. The Clover is just trying and failing to be a Gti.
75s are good though...

I know this is a terrible admission but I always thought (assumed) incorrectly that Alfasuds were RWD! Feel free to slap me!
It's even in the ad.Have a slap.

And please DON'T drive it to see what the fuss is about, it'll be slower than you expected, awful handling and a truly crap interior.
In this case you really shouldn't meet your hero.
