Hello, I tested a 2004 156 2.4 jtd veloce today and was very impressed with looks/noise/performance etc - I'm now thinking of buying one.
As I only had a shortish test drive could someone give me an idea of 'real' mpg figures on a 2003/2004 model. I got up to 35mpg fairly quickly on a mixed run but was told by the dealer that 40-45mpg is easily achieveable...

35 is a typical figure round town and hooning about like a loony on the moors. On a good motorway cruise, high 40's is a typical average. I came back from holiday fully loaded up, good quiet conditions and averaged 48 over 200 miles or so. This is on a 5 speed 10valve. The later 6 speed 20valve returns much the same.
