156 2.4 jtd - oil

Just become the proud owner of a nearly new 2.4 veloce jtd. Yes I know it tells you in the manual not to mix different types of oils but what spec/make top oil can I really put in the thing....?

Any help appreciated.

You need 5w-40 or 10w-40 Fully Synthetic.

The Alfa recommendations are
Selenia 10-40 Turbo Diesel

The dealers use the standard 10-40.

You can get it from your local friendly dealer! (They may give you a 10-15% discount if you are a member of the AROC).

www.ebspares.co.uk might do it as well. The JTD's don't use as much oil as the Twin Sparks, but it's worth keeping a 1 litre top up can in the garage. Don't overfill it. Do you have the handy bar graph oil check on your infopod? They seem pretty accurate.
