Ladies & Gents -
Now this may seem daft but safe rather than sorry.....I've just been bequeathed a 2003 (pre facelift) 156 sportwagon 1.9jtd 8v, car has rdiculously low miles, full dealer s/h and is superb condition bar one fly in the ointment - bonnet catch failure on the motorway - end result car has a mismatched bonnet (if anyone has a replacement in "metallico blu" please let me know).......

Bonnet currently fitted has no sound deadening under it, the only other 156 I've the opportunity to squint at is a T spark - that does.........is this just a lazy replacement or should diesels not have deadening fitted for some reason??????

I'd think diesels are more likely to have sound deadening fitted rather than the other way round.

Yep.

My '03 1.9JTD 8V Sportwagon (interior facelift) has an under bonnet sound deadener.
It clips on with a million plastic buttons.
There is also a flat rubber weather strip at the front.

Fantastic car, can't kill it or think of anything (alfa) to replace it with smile
