Hello - i just replaced a headlight bulb in my Giulietta this morning... i disconnected the battery to do so. Now after putting back together the bulb works but the car is telling me the power steering is broken, hill hold won't work, various other weird statements are coming up, and i can't engage "dynamic"....

Any ideas? i'm thinking that the money saved by fitting my own bulb is now going to be dwarfed by the cost of sorting the rest of it! I don't believe any of the codes as the car was fine... but it seems to be having a "moment" - any ideas how to fix this? thanks!

Your undoing was disconnecting the battery. Never had a car that needed the battery disconnected prior to replacing a bulb?. If your lucky going for a drive may allow the various whinging ECUs to sort themselves out. This seems to be a common theme on modern cars as these have a wobble when they are taken off supply and then turned back on as most of these fandangled modern cars are rarely fully off when the keys are removed .

This won't be anything to do with the bulb, but more the battery/connection.

Alfa's do exactly as you described when the battery is flat/dying, or the connection is poor.

I would go back and check that you have seated the cables properly, and haven't dislodged an earth cable.
