Ex BMW/Audi/Merc owner to Brera..advice
Discussion
Afternoon, I'm really tempted to buy a Brera 2.4d...my last few cars have been a CLS, A4, A6, 3 series, 330d coupe
I have access to Alfa parts at cheap prices so I'm not too fussed about that,
I really like the look of them and they seem decent value. I'm looking for something below 5k and I'm more than happy with 30 to 40mpg and would look to use the car for about 6 months for a daily 80 mile drive. Then I will prob buy another newer merc CLS..
Anything I should look out for in particular?
Does removing the dpf and a remap make that much of a difference?

2.4 is a great engine, and will do 260 HP with a map. We have a 159 estate and that is plenty quick enough.
Engines are reliable, but expensive when they break. Stuff like inlet manifolds, turbos etc. Ours is at 100K, it's needed a turbo (might have been the map.... :-) ). Electrics, interiors etc are solid.
