Creaky little MiTo...
Discussion
Afternoon all. I have a 2009 MiTo 1.4TB 155 Veloce on 70k miles.
The suspension seems to have been made of cheese and I forgot how many parts have been replaced over the past 50k miles we have owned it.
At present their is an awful creaking noticeable when turning at low speed. Most notable when stationary and around off centre. Garage cannot find anything wrong and have so far:
1. Changed both topmounts;
2. Checked springs;
3. Checked shock absorbers;
4. Checked wishbones;
5. Checks bushings;
6. Ruled out Electric Steering and
7. New tyres (Michelin Primacy) are at correct pressure.
Noise cannot be heard when on the ramp or garage floor (I suspect due to being on a low friction surface), but is loud on the road.
Anybody got any bright ideas that might help?
On a seperate note, it being an Italian car the exhaust backbox has rotted through the outer skin. Anyone replaced their backbox yet and if so, any suggestions as to cheap but nice backboxes? Don't want louder. Can't go OEM and the whole exhaust system would need replacing. Car is not worth that anymore.

Solution in case anyone did have an interest...
Anti roll bar linkage. The main problem was the incompetent garage for not picking it up despite many attempts to find it.
Drop Links or rolll bar links nearly always the culprit for knocking and creaking noises. Also bushes which when new are fine but seem to dry out very quickly and become crap. Anti roll bar linkage. The main problem was the incompetent garage for not picking it up despite many attempts to find it.
