Guide price on Alfa gt 1300 junior
Discussion
As title suggests I have the chance to buy a 1967 Alfa 105 series GT 1300 junior,it is originally an italian car but has lived its whole life in South Africa.
I'm told it's running and solid but will need restoring, paint, interior, mechanicals etc.
I know it is difficult but a guide to What would be a fair price ??
Any advice is welcome
Thanks Roger

Nigh on impossible question to answer but that would depend on a number of things.
Regardless of what you pay:
1. if it is an up country car you need to have it transported to port.
2. Container to the UK is going to be £2k + costs in the UK for clearances + 10% import duty.
3. You wont get any change for £25k for a proper body resto in the UK - unless you do some/all of the work yourself.
In principle I'd caution against such a purchase (been there done that) unless someone local can check the car out. I bought a car in SA and had it restored there but that has it's own complexities.

I hope that this pic has been resized/deformed by the photo upload, other wise the suspension looks to be on the high side! It's the most desirable version of a wonderful car. Prices can vary from pretty mad to WTF?? mad. Has the seller given you a price or are you asking for advice on price?
I would expect an MOT'd, driving example to go between £15-20,000. If it's less, buy it immediately!
Find out which part of SA the car lived in - if near the coast then expect the bodywork to be crusty. Have it inspected regardless.
I am being pedantic, and aside from the suspension issue, the interior will need gutting (and burnt at the very least). Chrome centre heart on the nose is from a later 105.
If the car is solid then I can see £10k in it tops. Then again, buying an AR has always been a heart before head decision.
PS - if you do buy the car and decide to restore the dash, I have a spare strip of material to recover the dash to the original look. Mine are being done at the moment as below (see before and after)

Look at the floors, spare wheel well and sills for rust - well everything below the knee.
Not many cars come up for sale period but starting at £15k with an incomplete resto case you will be in the 40's when done. I saw a 64 GT advertised this week which looked solid for £29k.
Let us know how you get on.

My plans are to restore body, change colour and fit twin spark engine and upgrade everything !!
So just looking for a good starting point, not fussed about suspension, brakes, engine,INTERIOR !😳
