Hi All,
Can anyone shed any light on a (v. intermittent) problem I'm having with my 1999 156 2.0T Selespeed please? (60K miles)

Every once in a blue moon, when starting from cold I get the 'overheated clutch?' warning symbol/beep for about the first 1/2 mile or so, and am unable to select any gears apart from reverse, 1st or second.
The fault usually clears itself and then all's well for another month or so. Could some kinda sensor/intermittent contact be involved?

Thanks in advance,
Ed.

I think it will be a roadspeed sensor (£45 from Alfa).

HTH.

Reckon Wombat is right. I seem to remember someone else on the forum having a similar problem. Try doing a search.
