Hi all,

Has anyone had an engine light come on after changing a battery?

I'm thinking of getting a diagnostic tool any tips on which is best?

Thanks in advance.
Craig.

I changed the battery in my Spider and didn't have a check engine light.

MultiECU (or something like that) gets recommended on the AlfaOwner site - Alfa swapped a couple of pins on the OBD, so standard code readers don't work all that well. My normal generic one did work, and would read and clear codes - but it did cause odd behaviour when it was plugged in (various warning lights that weren't there before, couldn't start the car when it was plugged in - but if I plugged it in when the engine was running couldn't stop the car with it plugged in etc.).

Thanks for the info.

Multiecuscan.

The free version will read and clear codes in pretty much anything Alfa.

If you’re going to keep the car long term, buy the full version, it’s worth every penny.
