Alfa Mito rear seat stuck

Evening all,

Struggling with my Mito, I've tried lifting the rear seat base and I can't pull it up, it feels like something is stuck as it will lift up partially on the passenger side and a bit on the driver side.

The seat back is fine and will go up and down freely, any ideas?

Is the base supposed to lift ? On a lot of hatchbacks it's only the seat backs that drop to extend the load area.

Yep, it supposed to lift, I've had it up before a long while ago, just cant work out what the problem is now

We used to have a seat base (not an Alfa) that you'd get your fingers in under the front and tug it up. The seat base wasn't directly hinged to the bodyshell there, instead there was a cranked metal linkage between the two and it allowed the seat base to throw forwards and then tilt so that it was snug behind the seats in front and that allowed the seat back to drop down flatter behind the seat base.
