Alfa 145/155/Fiat Coupe Early Type Rear ABS Sensor
Discussion
Hi all,
Does any one have an early type rear ABS sensor, P/N 60806254 / 46422412 / 0 265 006 197 (Bosch) I can buy at all? I believe it's also used on 155s, Fiat Coupes and Tempras and Lancia Dedras and Delta IIs. I'm after the early type one which has the metal part sticking out, rather than the later all plastic type:

Cheers

I'm 99% positive these are the same as the Ph 1 Alfa GTV/Spider, unfortunately they are unobtanium new now. Might be worth trying GTV City on FB, he sometimes has a few used ones but as you've probably found they are nigh on impossible to get out in one piece.
From memory someone did some experimenting with Renault ones (Kangoo I think) on Alfa Owner to replace these, might be worth a search on there. Let us know please if you find stock though as I'd like a spare set for my Spider....

Thanks for the info Wal, I'll check out the Kangoo option. If you fancy it, we can go halves on a minimum 100 piece order from Alibaba?
I have messaged the seller to ask for a quote for 2 and they came back and say 100 minimum. Oh well.
Ha ha, I do like to hold a couple of spares but 50 might be slightly too many....
Just did a quick search and found the thread on AO, can't put a link here (don't think so anyway due to PH rules). Worth a look as the guy tried a few different ones but the Kangoo Mk 1 were the closest, part number was Bosch 0 265 006 401 (RH).
Did a very quick look on EBay and they were possibly available, disclaimer though is I'd read the thread on AO first before taking my advice on playing with an ABS set up. Good luck.
Might be worth contacting these guys -

They've helped me in the past with difficult-to-source Alfa parts.

Thanks both, I've sent Tanc Barratt an email.
Found the AO link about the Kangoo sensors, will certainly bear those in mind even if they do need a bit of fettling to fit. For the moment I've ordered a cheap front sensor as the plug is the same just to see if the light goes out when you turn the ignition on. I've read the codes and it comes back as "rear LH sensor not connected". I've checked under the rear seat and it is definitely connected but I suspect a broken wire inside the sensor end of the connection as I think I got the routing wrong when reinstalling the rear sub-frame causing the wire to go very taught. If the cheap front sensor turns the light off then I'll look at rewiring the sensor or replacing it with a Kangoo one.
For the former, I've spied an Audi A4 8E rear sensor which has a long enough cable along with what looks to be a suitable grommet near the sensor plug. They're very cheap and plenty about so hopefully that'll do it.

Try asking Joe here. http://www.fiatcoupespecialist.co.uk/ He will have good secondhand ones and know how to source a new one also.
