Has anybody had an issue with the collision radar triggering during an overtake and slowing the car?

dropped a gear and started an overtake on a long, gentle left hand bend,as I got level with the rear wheel of the car in front, the Guilia ceased accelerating, I was miles off the rev limit. The Guilia then refused to pick up pace at all - It did not feel like turbo lagg.
Ended up having to slow down and tuck back in behind due to oncoming traffic in the distance.

Is the collision radar in the front bumper quite sensitive? As i'm stumped to why all of a sudden the car ran out of grunt, I was at 40mph looking to go to 70mph.

You should have had a warning squark too, sounds a bit like one of those clowns trumpets that roll outwards!.

The sensitivity is adjustable in the system, it can be set to nearest or furthest. I have found its too keen to make the stupid noise on near, so set it to far.
It's never done what you describe on mine, it either shouts at you or in an an extreme case jumps on the brakes for you.

(mines a veloce but I expect the QF is the same)

First thing I do when I start the car is turn the FCW off. It's a liability. It's slammed on the brakes twice for me when it really should not have.
