Poor Radio Signal
Discussion
Hi there, just seen that the tumbleweed seems to be bulding up on this thread...
When I worked at an Alfa dealers,we had a couple of 156s that this happened to. (Quite common fault apparantly)
Our were replaced / patched by the local car glass specialist using the conductive paint to repair all the elements.
If you need to get a new amplifier out of Alfa under warranty, claim you have a fault with the heating elements, rather than the aerial, as this is a much easier claim under the warranty for the dealer....
It may be better for you to investigate an aftermarket signal amplifier rather than incurr large expense gettign it fixed "properly" if you see what I mean.
Hope that helps, best regards,
Chris

I have a problem with LW/MW, which I hadn't noticed until I tried to listen to the cricket the other day. FM reception seems OK, although it sometimes seems to have a problem getting a lock on the signal. It's an aftermarket unit so I need to check it has been installed properly - however, assuming it has, and given that it's out of warranty, what's the most cost-efective way of sorting it out?
