Friends car has broken seat pull on drivers seat, have had a look and it is just plastic and is a well known weak spot, he isn't keen on paying £170/180 for a replacement part for it to go again, he has 2 young boys so in/out of the back seat a lot.

This is the type on his seats...

Is there an upgrade kit out there which will last longer and not made of chocolate?

If it's anything like the Punto Abarth availability then probably not. or the Mito, or the Brera etc etc

ebay throws up some foreign suppliers at around half that price (i got mine from Italy, which kind of makes sense i guess). Pretty sure the Abarth are model specific so a degree of caution when pressing Buy It Now.

need to make sure it is the handle. These are devious little set-ups and it could also be a slipped/detached cable somewhere in the bowels of the seat or the cogwheel on the rail that regulates the tilt/slide stuff. Very occasionally it might just be that the cable has popped out of it's fixing on the handle and it can be massaged back into place.

Definately the handle, being made of chocolate the cable has pulled through the plastic and currently 'temp repair' with a cable tie

Our eldest child snapped mine off when playing with it.

We bought some off eBay for about £70 and fitted ourselves which was fairly pain free.

The ones that we bought seemed more robust than the OEM
