A guy at work is selling his 156 t.spark (2 litre) for £4500 is this a good buy?
It’s a 2000 W with 56k miles, 2 owner, leather, aircon, sports pack 2 and metallic red colour.
Its been well maintained and has just had the cam belt done, is in good condition. I'm quite tempted as I know it’s a good car (he is only selling it as he is moving back to OZ).
Any comments appreciated.

Sounds fair to me......considering we bought our 156 Sportwagon about 18mths ago for £8.5k from a dealer. Depreciation eh, don'tcha just love it?

Might be worth getting a specialist to give it the once over though.

If I was going to be picky.....I would say it is worth nearer £4k I know it is only £500.00 but in that price bracket that is a lot. In that colour though....they would have to pay me......you can't buy a red Alfa and get the wrong shade....it has to be Alfa red or nothing.

I have a 145 in the darker metallic Proteo Red, and in my opinion its more classy, plus you dont have to worry about fading/faded Rosso Red which will start to become more apparent as 156s are getting near to that age.

Hi,
Thanks all.
I'm getting it for £4250 which I think is pretty good. I've seen cheaper ones but I know this one fairly well so its worth it to me. Also its a 'veloce' manual and the mileage is actually only 53k with the alfa fsh, he has even done the cambelt and tensioners less than 1000 miles ago which saves a bit.
I quite like the colour its a darkish metalic red, in fact I'd probably choose it given the choice.
