Hi all,

right some of you may have read some of my previous post and know that my company runs a fleet of 156's. One of my friends at work as unfortunately hit a dog and busted the front number plate and the black bit that it is attached to. (dont worry dog is OK)

What is the black bit called and what can she expect to pay, because it will be classed as a second claim on insurance the company culd make her pay a £500 excess. Also where can i get one from second hand??

Cheers

It's just a number plate plinth for our whopping great big number plates.
Underneath is a nice little plinth moulded into the bumper for... nice little plates.

You could try EB Spares, your local dealer, or any scrappers like
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Alfacity-and-FiatCity
Never used them, but surely they must have one!

Alternatively, simply scrap the large ugly balck bit and attach the new 'plate directly to the bumper.
Looks better and costs you less...

Thanks guys, i have had a look on that ebay site and other parts of ebay and can find nothing, even a google search i get nothing. Unfortunately with it being a company car it has to be replaced and not left off, any other ideas.

The actual number plate plinth smashed to pieces on impact on one side so superglue is not a option.

Somebody must have bought one of these in the past.

Have you just rung the dealer?
It won't be much and they should have one kicking about.

Alfas look much better without a front plate.
I know it is not technically legal, but you only run the threat of a £30 fine and it's not endorseable.

I have a plinth off a 2004 Spider. If anyone knows if it fits the 156 then its yours for the P&P and maybe a pint some time.

That is very good of you, it was actually for a friend at work and she has had it repaired now.

Thanks anyway.
