New Alfa convert

I joined Pistonheads when I bought a Westfield, I have a 4x4 as my everyday car but have decided to change it so today I bought a Alfa 156 2.5ltr V6, 6 Speed. 1999 low mileage, full history leather interior wood dash and wheel , large boot spoiler. Drove it home 200 miles today , bloody hell I Love it on the motorway its superb and when you put your foot down that V6 sounds superb,
A few friends tried to talk me out of buying an Alfa but Im a convert I love it.

Bought mine 2 years ago and still love it. ( oil burner with 170bhp ) If you get a chance to drive a 156 gta. DONT DO IT! I did and now im not so happy. The feel and the..... well you get the idear?
They do an upgrade which i think has upto 400bhp. Check out Topgear power laps - gta 3.7

The Autodelta 156 was at the national Alfa day last year with the Supercharged GT & the rest of the Autodelta range,lovely.

You all make me wish I had done it sooner, only had it three days but keep finding excuses to go out in it, Its quick and sooo comfortable. Its a great contrast to my Westfield which is quick but uncomfortable when its cold ( no heater) so now Ive got great cars whatever the weather.
Alfa's unfortunately are prone to gossip.... "I'll never buy an alfa because they are unreliable italian rustbuckets" etc etc.
Complete jibberish obviously, yes, things go wrong, they have their negatives and aren't built as well as some makes of cars, but they make up for this in other ways I think alfas are marvellous, have had quite a few, and will have another. My current alfa is a 176,000 mile 145 cloverleaf, before that it was a 264,000 mile 164. The 164 had never broken down, never needed any big problems sorted, it is still on its original engine, gearbox etc, and just recently had it's original clutch changed. Not many motors will do that.
