I have been receiving a warning on every other journey or so for the past couple of weeks, saying something like "Engine control system failure". It seems to come and go as it pleases, but hasn't caused any problems. Anything to worry about, or just an iffy sensor, such as lambda, etc?

It's a 2001 147 2.0 manual.

Interestingly I am achieving better fuel consumption.

<cough>bump</cough>

It did it again today, the actual message is "Motor Control System Failure". And noe it doesn't want to start when hot.

Any ideas, so I know I don't get fleeced by my local rogues?

Book it in your dealers. I can mean one of 200 faults.

Thanks for that.

So, along to the dealership it is, then.
