I am toying with the idea of buying a V6 Spider and I am wondering about the handling, some reviews say they are great and some say rubbish. Anybody got any experience of how one would cope with twisty/bumpy NE Scotland back-roads?
Thanks.

Stick a set of Eibachs and a strutbrace on and you'll have lots of fun.

A lot less composed than the GTV but a bit of a giggle nonetheless.
Hearing the V6 the roof down will probably compensate for a bit of scuttle shake...

Not sure about the strut brace - it may make the car corner a little flatter but at the expense of inducing understeer a bit earlier and won't do anything to address the lack of a metal roof, so the whole car will still be a bit "twisty".

Of the 2, the 2.0TS is probably more accomplished in the handling department, but the 3.0V6 doesn't half put a smile on your face...

Thanks guys, it would have to be the V6 as I love that engine. I had a 2.5 V6 wide-body 155 for 5 years and it was superb.

A front strut brace will not increase understeer, it just braces the front struts allowing the front suspension to do its job a little better! Personaly having driven a couple of Alfa Spiders I would recomend anything which stiffens the shell up a bit, they are a bit wibbly wobbly (technical term!). Try and get a test drive which includes some lumpy old back roads, you will soon be able to decide wether you find the amount of scuttle shake and general flex acceptable.
