So what is this then?......At firt glance it looks like the 8c Comptezione, but when you look closer there are some pretty fundamental changes from the press piccies of the 8c. Is it the latest incarnation of the 8c, the one they are now talking about building?

Looks more like a modern take on a 33 Stradale. Very Nice. Very very Nice. Though Diva is a stoopid name.

It is a testbed for future development items, and there are no plans to put it into production. Indeed it is rather tasty.

It was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show and was a design exercise by the Espera Sbarro (sp?) design school. The inspiration is the 33 Stradale so the familiar shape is no coincidence.

Apparently the engine and gearbox are from the 147 GTA Selespeed...(yes, they did do one).

Looks absolutely awesome IMHO.

It is indeed stunning overall with some really nice details, although I'm not too keen on the headlamps.

If you're interested you can download a pdf brochure about the car from the website of Elasis, the Fiat Group engineering company that did the chassis.

Also, more about the car at here and here at Italiaspeed.com

The centre console looks like a 1970s radio

Nice car although the name is rubbish and some of the design features are a bit strange for my taste. I think the car looks basically like a stripped out 8C with some intresting design features and a thoroughbred Alfa engine rather than the Maser unit in the 8C.

I'm with you there car.chic, but I think I need a lottery win. Projected price tag is circa €125,000, but what a machine!

Really?

So it's gonna compete with the 8C then?

I hope not.

The 8C is a gorgeous car, and although this is striking it just doesn't quite do it for me. I quite like the back, but the front, the doors, the windscreen surround - all just a bit fussy.

This is what I find amazingly frustrating. Why don't kit cars look like that? A fantastic body on the remains of an MX-5 or similar would give you something gorgeous looking for less an £10k, rather than the £££s that this will undoubtedly cost.
