Punto power steering dashboard light... help!
Discussion
The power steering went on our '99 MK2 Punto.
We got a reconditioned unit:-

We got a local car electrician to fit it. He has done them before. He fitted it. Power steering works but dashboard light still on. Order replacement ECU part from BBA Reman (same company as got the power steering unit from). Fitted by electrician but still broken. He says it's fine and needs ECU reset to detect new power steering unit. Fiat garage says no, ECU will detect automatically. BBA are prepared to send another power steering unit but I'll have to pay *another* lot of installation fees for the unit to the electrician.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do? Fiat has quoted 40 quid + VAT to reset the ECU. Power steering re-install will cost 140 quid.
I'm stuck in the middle and have no idea who to trust!!! How do I get the dashboard light to go off?
Help!!!
Cheers, Chris.
