I've always had a soft spot for these cars and may have the chance to pick one up very cheap. Does anyone here own one or have any experience with them. I know it will suffer from the usual rust problem but just wondered if there is anything else I should look out for.
Thanks

There are a few companies producing parts for them and an owners consortium reproducing harder to find bits.

Interior trim might be a bit tricky to find, but almost everything else is obtainable.

Problemwise, its very much standard 80s italian. Bodywork and electrics can be trouble, mechanically robust.

Imo they also drive a damn sight better than modern cars

I've had a Coupe ie since 1989, I bought a 1984 model and tbh I think they really went to town on the rust protection in about 1981. I am just having to do some welding on mine for the first time for the MOT and it only needs a couple of small patches at the rear end of the sills and a repair behind the rear wheels where all the spray would have been thrown up. It certainly has survived better than most 23 year old cars.

Make sure you check the rear turrets beneath the boot liner and behind the strut, only because they are double skinned and can be tricky (or expensive) to repair.

Haven't had a problem with parts, as long as you don't get the Volumex the engine bits are pretty much the same as Fiat Twin Cams. You can get some great bargains on ebay, just got some front brake pads for £4.99! Also, a Beta Consortium is about to be set up by the Lancia Motor Club to make sure of spares availability.
