What a dipstick!

Seriously, what a dipstick. On the 147. It's crap. Is there a replacement dipstick available? Only had the car a week, but really struggle to read it, and still not completely sure about the level. Seems it scrapes the oil off the side walls of the tube so there's oil along most of the length. There is a blob of oil upto the right place but it's not that clear.

Never had any issue reading a dipstick before!

Remove it, wipe it, replace it, remove it again and have a look. Works fine for me every time.

^^^ What he said - its standard practice in most cars. In fact, I'd be surprised if the owner's manual didn't actually specify that...

Oh and you want to try reading the one on a Renault Megane....it's black plastic FFS. Obviously the person who thought of that has never checked the oil on a car.
